Handmade, Made to Order
Special Noodle (四姐, "Fourth Sister") is a casual Chinese restaurant where the most popular dishes — steamed soup dumplings, pork soup pan-fried buns, beef wrap and noodle bowls — are made in the kitchen when you order them, not pre-prepared.
Although "noodle" is in the name, the menu reaches well beyond it: baos and dumplings, stone-pot and clay-pot dishes, wok-fried plates, soups, cold dishes, fried rice and Chinese street-food snacks. One person can order dumplings, another noodles, and the table can share a pot.
Now Open in Honolulu
Special Noodle grew from its Bay Area noodle houses in San Jose, Milpitas and Richmond to Las Vegas Chinatown. The Honolulu restaurant at 401 Kamakee St #102 brings the same handmade dumplings and noodle bowls to Hawaii.
